Re: Nimslo lenses - StereoType?

StereoType was at the interim address for awhile, but is now back
at:

stereotype@...

I heard from Craig Daniels as recently as two weeks ago, and think
he is still there! He is the only source for these particular
lenses. Technical Enterprises had a different style of closeup
lenses, but nothing for distance (the Nimslo does not focus to
infinity in stock form).

Re: Lenticular print labs

Mark Shields <beamsplitter@...>

I have not had processing done at 3Dx, but I did buy a new old
stock Nimslo from them. The camera arrived in fine shape. They
did also send a flash, which I did not order, but since it seems
to be a pretty good flash with the bounce head and all, and it
was not too expensive, I kept it.

Subject: Lenticular print labs???

Hi. Does anyone have any experience with and/or knowledge of i3Dx in
Duluth, Georgia, which apparently does currently offer 3 or 4 lens
lenticular prints, as well as new/old stock Nimslos?

Changes

shab@...

Bob,

This major change will undoubtedly affect 1000 people used to see messages
sent from Calcite. It's both a happy and a sad note. On this occasion,
perhaps a brief history by you, of the original list might be appropriate.

Thanks for doing an extraordinary job and congratulations on the promotion
at the college.

New Star Wars lenticulars coming out?

rdi@...

I ran across a snippet somewhere that there is a set of
Star Wars Episode 1 lenticular 3D cards coming out in April 2000.
Has anyone else heard about this?

Hey, If you can read this, I can post to the list again! :-)

Is the problem my using Netscape 2.1?
In short, Yes. It's time to upgrade. My favorite browser WAS Netscape 3.4, but so many site no longer work with it that I now have IE5 as well. (I still keep and use the Netscape browser - but have IE5 for those times that something comes up and does not work.) It's a free upgrade, so come on and be assimilated! ;-)

I wanted to let you know that I am actually (slowly)
updating my site in secret, and eventually will have a

sending all the e-mail asking for when it will happen.

Yuck!

I just got my first message via the new service ... and it looks
*BAD* in my opinion ... too much advertiting in the message!

So I really want to have as much feedback from all of you - and I can
just repeat my offer to host the lists on stereoscopy.com free of
charge - and definitely WITHOUT any advertising!

Tetratel

ken@...

Hello,

My name is Ken Tetterington, sorry I was not able to participate
earlier in the chat regarding Tetratel as it took a few days to join
the group.

As most of you may or may not know I am the person that Ray Hannisian
started the flaming against regarding our use of his images on our
web site <http://www.tetratel.com>.

To set the record straight - Over a year ago I asked permission from
Ray to use some of his images on our web site, he agreed and in fact
sent me the images to be placed on our site. When asked (very rudly)
to remove them we did.

It was of course not my intention that we pirate any ones images and
that the purpose of these images was not in any way to profit from
the use of his images. We have not.

As a huge fan of the stereoscopic industry the intention I and
Tetratel have always had was to expand it to mainstream consumers.
This can only benefit the content providers and the hardware
suppliers (Tetratel).

We actively promote and sell content such as Lucas Arts, Interplay,
John Williamson's work, Rui at Protologik, Oleg at Maddox games and
several other products. I hope that by doing so Tetratel can profit
and make a profit for the 3D content providers.

Ray Hannisian is a very talented individual regarding his film and
photo 3D work, this is why we requested using his images in the first
place. Although we could never agree on many discussed contracts and
proposed relationships he is a telent to the 3D industry. I regret
any hard feelings I may have caused him however I do not appreciate
any one sending me rude photographs and calling me a liar. To this
end we would not carry any of his work on our site again and will not
promote his work to others.

Further discusions (meaningfull nextime) to follow.

-------------
Warm regards,
Ken @ Tetratel

So, here we all are, with two sides to the story. Like I said, maybe
it's time to step back, take a deep breath, and mothball the heavy
ammo.

ROBERT A. REID <rreid@...>

Hello Mark,
I saw your name associated with the Olympus XA-2 twinned cameras in the
Photo 3D archives, i wonder if you did the twinning of these & if so how was
the wiring done between the two shutter releases ? I opened one of my XA-2's
& it's very tight in there, not sure where to drill an exit hole for the
wires. Any info would be greatly appreciated Mark.

Best regards, Bob Reid (Baltimore, Md.)
